"John Wayne" by Lady Gaga is featured on Just Dance 2018. The Extreme Version routine was also featured on Just Dance Now from November 30 to December 7, 2017.
Appearance of the Dancer
Classic
The dancer is a woman with pink hair styled in a bob, sunglasses with eyelashes on top, and a yellow cowboy hat with a red fire symbol on it. She has a golden cuff on her left arm and an elbow-length magenta glove on her right hand. She has a dark purple sleeveless shirt with yellow highlights and short pink triangular motifs. She has a golden strip around her stomach, and the top half of her pants resemble her shirt. She has pants with yellow frills sticking out from the sides. Her pants are light teal tucked into yellow boots with a red lightning bolt design on them.
During the second chorus, bridge, and the last part of the song, her shirt, upper pants, and pants become dark purple.
Extreme Version
The dancer is dressed the same way that Lady Gaga is on the music video. She wears a black sun hat with short blonde hair underneath. She wears a latex leotard that covers her foot, half chest, and right arm. She also wears high heels that match her outfit.
From the bridge to the end of the final chorus, her skin is more yellowish.
Background
At the very beginning of the routine, the pilot of the train is seen with its title, "The Gaga Express". The routine takes place on the flatbed carriage of a moving train transporting two barrels, three boxes, several gramophones and several gears. It also doubles as a stage for the dancer to dance onto.
Throughout the routine, the train is moving through a Wild West town. A few windmills and water towers can be seen in the background as the train moves through a bridge that is lit with fluorescent lights arranged in an X pattern. Some of the gramophones and the lights flash to the beat of the song while the barrels and the boxes bounce to the beat of the song.
Once the train passes the bridge, the sky changes color from purple to blue as it kicks up pink dust that gets blown away by the desert wind.
Once the chorus starts, the camera abruptly zooms out to reveal the train passing through a big flock of golden robot horses (with almost nothing else visible) galloping next to it as four of them catch up with the train next to the flatbed carriage.
At the end of the second chorus, the train enters a dark tunnel where piles of chairs and flickering fluorescent lights can be seen in the background, with the lights illuminating the tunnel.
At the climax of the song, the train exits the tunnel and then it comes back to the plains with minimal amount of dust. There are several wooden windmills spread out in the plains. There is also several purple cayons through out the final chorus.
Once the climax of the song begins, we come back to a sunset over the horizon. There is also gears and pipes spewing out baby blue gas. The sky is a light orange with some canyons and windmills.
At the end of the song, the dancer comes back to a train station with some megaphones, barrels, and a grand piano.
Extreme Version
The routine takes place in an old-fashioned station with five ancient locomotives, a big arch with iron decorations and many swirls on the floor. During the intro, there is some smoke floating around and the scenery lights up slowly.
In the verses, the station is lit by many lights on the locomotives and the floor, which are in shades of red and match the beat of the song; in the pre-chorus, instead, they are blue.
As soon as the chorus starts, the camera zooms in and the locomotives on the sides exude some smoke from their chimneys. A huge light overwhelming the one in the middle starts to shine. The environment is now in shades of yellow and pink, and the swirls on the floor are black.
In the bridge, the scenery is yellow, with a huge light behind the locomotive in the middle, a lot of fog and some sparkles around.
In the final part, the lighting initially keeps the colors in the chorus, and then it gets darker and turns mostly red.
Gold Moves
Classic
There are 3 Gold Moves in the Classic routine.

Extreme Version
There are 3 Gold Moves in the Extreme Version routine, all of which are the same:
All Gold Moves: Turn your head to the left, bend your left leg slightly, and punch towards the right of the screen.

- The Classic dancer appears in the background of All You Gotta Do (Is Just Dance).
- The Extreme Version coach’s outfit draws inspiration from Lady Gaga’s wardrobe in the music video for John Wayne.
- In the Classic routine, due to how the dust gets blown away, the bottom part of the pictograms appear to be obscured.
- Four pictograms of the Extreme Version are called "harley_po", "harleyshake_sh", "harleylegs_sh" and "harleylegsright_sh", referencing American motorcycle brand Harley-Davidson.
- Besides, five other pictograms have inappropriate names: the former three are called "gagapussy_mo_ar", "gagapussyjump_ju" and "gagapussyleft_mo_ar", and the latter two are called "quenelledroite_po" and "quenellegauche_po" (the quenelle is a common vulgar gesture used in France).
- The Just Dance Now files for the Extreme Version have three additional placeholder half coaches.
- Besides, the bundle lacks the cover.
